Hi there! It would be great to visit my site where you could find organic seeds gathered in the wild or from small local growths (heirloom).

Maybe there is not big variety, but this is because all seeds are checked one by one, in order to ensure that they are natural organic with good germination. Tested and packed for 2012.

Love you castor beans! I have the red stem and green stem varieties, and have been looking everywhere for seeds for the big purple plants that you have. If you still have seeds, will you please send some to me at Steve Stehr, 6026 Kenwood Ave, Dallas, TX 75206 ? Thanks so much, and I hope your garden is off to as quick a start as mine is this year. You're not as bad as my grandpa who would sit next to us with a knife, offering to cut the tape and warning us not to tear the wrapping paper (so it could be reused the next year). On my Dad's first Christmas with Mom's family, he opened a gift wrapped in paper bearing a label from the year he was born!

I used to tell my parents that I would train our children to walk over to their grandparents (i.e. my parents), smile sweetly, and tear the paper to shreds. Now we use reusable fabric bags, so that plan has been foiled!

That chucker looks like so much fun- my son would love that. We have a traditional "pumpkin hurl" off the deck. Would you believe my son asked if he could hurl it TODAY? WEEKS before Halloween??! No way.

Well said and I agree, if you get out there and get dirty you are a gardener, I am just learning many things about being a gardener and don't claim to know a lot about it, other than what I have picked up from my wife over the last 10 years. I am writing about what I am learning, not becoming a professional gardening or any other kind of blogger

But our personal blogs are just that our personal blogs and if people get confused, paranoid or disillusioned that we write about more than just gardening that is their issue and those of us who write what we want don't need to worry about them.

Well said! And woah, glad I missed out on the "real" gardener debate! I'm pretty sure I would have a hard time getting a "real gardener" title. But that's the beauty of gardening. And blogging. Someone like me, who dabbles in both, gets to do so as often or infrequently as I like! It's too bad people are being so judge-y. And I couldn't agree more - you are a REAL gardener!
